Around the Hexagon

We are back in France for another three months.  We just can’t seem to get enough of this place.  We’ve organized our work so that we can support our clients from here...and continue our deep research into French wines.

France is sometimes referred to as The Hexagon because it of its shape.  This trip hasn’t taken us around the entire Hexagon but it sure feels like it.

Our destination was Provence, as always.  So why not just fly into Marseilles, you ask?  Because we wanted to visit our good friends in Brittany.  Ok, so why not fly into Paris?  Because of Lucca.  It’s always all about the dog (and Val, of course.)
We landed in Zurich (best destination when traveling with a dog), which is to the east of France.  Then we drove all the way across France to Brittany, in the northwest.  Then we drove back east and south, taking us through Normandy and Troyes, before finally landing in St.-Remy-de-Provence.

So instead of a nice 30 mile drive from Marseilles airport to St.-Remy, we added an extra 2,000 miles and toured the Hexagon.  But we got to see our friends and see some interesting sights.  And don’t forget the famous tripe sausage of Troyes!
