Tis the Season

We had Jack Be Little pumpkins for dinner last night.  They are these tasty little pumpkins and this one was filled with trompettes de la mort (trumpets of the dead) mushrooms, a foamy broth, and other little vegetables.  It was a delicious, savory dish, and I guess a good way to celebrate Halloween.

I got inspired and so bought a pumpkin at our local vegetable market the next day.  The pumpkins they sell locally for cooking are called potiron.   Along with some onions and herbs it made an excellent soup.
